About Nancy
Nancy Copeland-Payton is an experienced retreat leader, spiritual director and author.
Nancy practiced medicine as a physician for over 20 years. After being ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA), she pastored churches for 12 years. She currently writes a column on discernment for Horizons Magazine.
Nancy received her BA from University of Missouri – Columbia in Zoology, Masters of Divinity from United Theological Seminary, and MD from Johns Hopkins Medical School. She has certificates from Gonzaga University in Spiritual Direction and the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in Leading Contemplative Prayer Groups and Retreats. She is a member of the Presbytery of the Inland Northwest (PCUSA), Spiritual Directors International, and oblate of the Benedictine Monastery of St Gertrude.
She and her husband, Gary are the delighted parents of three grown sons, grandparents of Alec, and love living in the Idaho mountains.
